Why they're so easy to confuse
Both can produce inattention in class, interrupted conversations, big emotional reactions, sensory sensitivities, and social friction. The difference lives in the why. ADHD-driven social trouble usually comes from impulsivity — knowing the social rules but blowing past them. Autism-driven social difference comes from processing the social world differently in the first place.
Similarly, an ADHD brain seeks novelty and abandons repetition; an autistic brain often seeks repetition and finds comfort in sameness. Same classroom behavior, opposite engines.
